The Lodge

A quiet corner of a Heritage Coast

Pigeon Coo Lodge sits within a conservation woodland on the Hamstead Heritage Coast — a landscape of tidal creeks, saltmarsh, and ancient oak woodland that forms one of the most unspoilt stretches of the Isle of Wight's coastline.

A short walk through the trees brings you to Newtown Creek, a National Nature Reserve and tidal estuary important for wading birds and wildlife. The Hamstead Trail runs directly from the lodge — no roads to cross, no cars to pass.

A Retreat for Two

Comfortable and self-contained, the lodge has two bedrooms, an open-plan living and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. It is the right size for a couple seeking genuine quiet, or a small family wanting a base away from the usual holiday bustle.

Bed linen and towels are included, there is gas central heating, and a welcome pack awaits on arrival. Private parking for two cars and steps away from Newtown Creek.

The Setting

Newtown Creek & the Heritage Coast

The lodge is tucked into the edge of a conservation woodland on the north-west corner of the island. Hamstead is one of the quietest parts of the Isle of Wight — there are no main roads nearby, just footpaths, wildlife and a mile to the sea.

Newtown Creek National Nature Reserve is a five-minute walk. Yarmouth is a short drive, with its ferry connections to the mainland, independent shops, and harbour. The Needles lie to the west; Cowes and the Solent to the north.
